Beachlands Maraetai Athletics Club (BMAC) came into existence in 2010 when a group of parents, with help from the staff at Te Puru Community Centre, set up the club to bring athletics back to the Pohutukawa Coast. This area has a rich background in athletics as the master athletics coach, Arthur Lydiard, produced two Olympic champions and inspired generations of NZ athletes.

BMAC has grown from the initial concept of providing a basic summer programme of ‘run jump throw ‘to having athletes represent the club at Auckland events and the Colgate Games.

Athletes are coached to complete in most track and field events and there is a Cross Country section in the winter. Thanks to Te Puru and Auckland Council, athletes can train on a 400m grass track with probably one of the best views overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

So if you have a child who would enjoy Summer and Winter athletics let us know so that we can inform you when registrations are open.

If you would like to register or find out more information please head to the BMAC facebook page
