Pohutukawa Coast Basketball Club (PCBC)

The Pohutukawa Coast Basketball Club (PCBC) provides regular coaching and game time for players from 6 years up to 15 years old, plus weekly adult men and women scrimmage sessions where late teen and older players can practice their skills in a friendly but competitive environment.


Weekly basketball sessions

Please note that these session times will change for term 4 (from 17th Oct):

  • Junior squad (age 6 – 11 yrs) – Tues 4pm-5pm
  • Junior extension squad (age 10-11 yrs) invitation only – Tues 5pm-6pm
  • Women’s squad (age 16+) – Tues 6pm-6:30pm
  • Youth squad (age 12 – 16 yrs) – Tues 6:30pm-7:30pm
  • Adult scrimmage (age 16+) – Tues 7:30pm-8:30pm

The club caters for absolute beginners through to competitive players, with the main focus on the club sessions on individual skills development, covering:

  • Ball Handling
  • Offensive Techniques
  • Defensive Techniques and
  • Overall basketball fundamental skills

Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience. You will need to bring plenty of water, sports shoes, suitable shorts and t-shirt/singlet. 


Competitive games

Players can register to compete in PCBC teams in the school holiday ABSL Run & Gun tournaments (also included in the registration form). 


Pohutukawa Coast Basketball 3on3 Tournament – 25th Nov

The Club will also run a day-long 3x3 tournament at the end of term 4, with teams competing in all age groups from 6+ to adults.  The tournament will take place on 25th November at the Te Puru main hall.  More details to follow.
