Position: Full-time, office-based
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
Pay: $30–$35 per hour

Te Puru Community Centre is looking for a capable and enthusiastic Administration Coordinator to join our small, community-focused team. This varied, hands-on role brings together finance and payroll, administration, customer service and Centre operations.

About Te Puru

Te Puru Community Centre is operated by the Te Puru Community Charitable Trust. We provide sport, recreation and community services across the Pōhutukawa Coast, with a strong focus on Beachlands, Maraetai, Whitford and Clevedon.

About the role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day financial administration using Xero, including reconciliations, invoicing, payments and reporting

  • Processing weekly payroll and maintaining accurate employee records

  • Welcoming customers and responding to enquiries in person, by phone and via email

  • Coordinating bookings, registrations, agreements, calendars and facility access

  • Maintaining accurate compliance, health and safety, and operational records

  • Coordinating supplies, stock, cleaning, maintenance and contractors

  • Preparing reports, newsletters, meeting minutes and general Centre communications

  • Supporting events, grant applications and other activities across the Centre

As part of a small team, you will be willing to lend a hand when needed and help ensure Te Puru remains an organised, welcoming and enjoyable place for our community.

About you

We are looking for someone who is approachable, dependable and confident taking ownership of their work.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in administration, accounts or office coordination

  • Practical experience using Xero and processing payroll

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems

  • Professional discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team

  • A practical, flexible attitude and genuine interest in community-focused work

It would be an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers or facility services

  • Experience with health and safety or compliance administration

  • Experience working within a community organisation, charitable trust or recreation facility
