Welcome to Recreational Gymnastics

Whether your child is new to gymnastics or looking to continue their journey, our Recreational Gymnastics programme provides a supportive environment where every gymnast can learn, grow and enjoy being active.

Children progress through the nationally recognised Gymnastics New Zealand Springboard Programme, developing skills, confidence and strength across a range of gymnastics disciplines.

Artistic Gymnastics

Learn skills on the Floor, Beam, Bars and Vault while progressing through the Gymnastics New Zealand Springboard Programme.

Tumbling

Develop strength, technique and body control while learning tumbling skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Includes:

  • Rolls

  • Cartwheels

  • Walkovers

  • Handsprings

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Combine movement, flexibility and coordination while learning routines with rhythmic gymnastics apparatus.

Includes:

  • Ribbon

  • Hoop

  • Ball

  • Dance & movement

Meet the Team

Apparel & What to Wear

Gymnasts should wear tight-fitting activewear to allow safe movement and coaching support. A leotard-style top with shorts or leggings is ideal.

Hair must be tied back and jewellery is not permitted during classes.

Gymnasts work barefoot. Please bring shoes that are easy to slide on and off, along with a drink bottle.


Te Puru Gymnastics merchandise is available for purchase and is optional. Our range includes club apparel suitable for training and competitions.
